The Jazz Loft Project

Here is an audio-slideshow The Jazz Loft Project by New York Times. From 1957 to 1965 photographer W. Eugene Smith recorded  4,000 hours on 1,741 reel-to-reel tapes and took 40,000 photographs of major jazz musicians in a loft of Manhattan. This work was archived until Sam Stephenson published a book last year. Jeffrey Henson Scales produced this magnificent work. If you like Jazz you are going to enjoy this. This piece got an award from the Best of Photojournalism 2011 (BOP), a contest organized by the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) in the U.S.
