Fatima

Sharing "Fatima", a very short audio-slide show about a religious celebration in the tiny village of El Gastor in Spain´s Sierra de Cádiz, Andalusía.

Local women host the statue of Our Lady of Fatima in their homes every day of May, creating altars to place her on. Other villagers gather at the homes, sharing company and food.

Since today´s young aren´t interested in this tradition, this Our Lady of Fatima celebration from El Gastor, like many other traditional Catholic rituals, it´s likely to disappear with today´s senior generation.

The Gastorenian Pipe

I'm going to share a new audio-slide show about the Gastorenian Pipe, an ancient Iberian instrument made from a horn.

El Gastor is a small village in the Cadiz province of Andalusia, Spain. The residents in this little town are making a great effort to preserve this ancient musical instrument and I hope my audio-slide show helps them keep this tradition.
