Jan Sochor - The Swamp People

The Swamp People is an audio-slide show by Jan Sochor, a photographer from the Czech Republic. He has been working in Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica and Spain during the last five years. He focuses on photojournalism and documentary photography, portraying Latin America, its everyday life, social, political and cultural issues. What I like about his presentation is that it's very realistic. He makes you feel the tranquility of the mangroves with the ambient sound and how the people portrayed live in harmony with their environment.

Carl Bower. Chica Barbie

I'm going to share Chica Barbie a very interesting story by Carl Bower. His pictures show really well beauty contests in Colombia and the importance pageants have in the Colombian society, a country that has lived an armed conflict for years.

His work has been published by numerous publications including New York Times, Washington Post, Time and Newsweek. Bower has also amazing weeding pictures seen by a documentary eye.
