Walter Astrada

Undesired, is a multimedia project by Walter Astrada. Astrada is an Argentine photographer represented by Getty Images who is currently working on a long-term project about violence against women.  India is a country known for colorfull images and religious celebrations, but is also a country with big problems to solve. The project shows the dangerous and inhumane situation that Indian women live in today.

I want to share his work about the Holi, the Festival of Colours, in the holy city of Vrindavan, India. This festival is celebrated by people throwing coloured powder and coloured water at each other. Holi is celebrated as a welcoming of Spring, and a celebration of the triumph of good over evil.
