Invisible Angels

Sharing my new audio-slide show production titled "Invisible Angels" featuring pictures taken by blind and visually impaired photographers Gerardo Ramirez, Palmira Martinez y Raul Lopez.

The story contains interviews on them explaining their experiences using Mexico City´s metro to get around the city.

Photography is a way to communicate, not a competition among shooters. There is no winner and looser. Their goal is to tell their story.

The art of communication is not exclusive to professional photographers or institutions. Life is richer when there are different points of view, experiences and diverse people share their stories. Everyone´s stories should be judged by the content and message.

Here you can see a playlist with all the previous audio-slide shows
I have produced with blind and visually impaired photographers.

The other side of the coin

My audio-slide show The Sight Within was presented as part of a TED x talk at the University of Surrey in England by Gina Badenoch, founder of Ojos que Sienten, an association that works with blind and visually impaired photographers with which I've been collaborating the past four years in Mexico City. Badenoch explains why and how she decided to start teaching photography to blind and visually impaired people.

Blind soccer

Blind soccer is my latest team production. Photographers who are blind and visually impaired from the Ojos que Sienten organization took pictures and interviewed soccer players who like them, cannot see. These photographers and soccer players show us all there´s more than one way to see and live. Their heightened senses of touch, sound and smell to situate them and they are not concerned with winning or loosing.
